    Question *** is up with this

    Here's the block of HTML code...specifies that this table cell is supposed to be 175px wide

    Code:
    	<td bgcolor="#DEDFDF" width="175" valign="top" nowrap>
    	<a name="post933440"></a>

    	<font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="2" ><b>jpbtennisman</b></font><br>
    	<font face="verdana,arial,helvetica" size="1" >Fanatic Member</font><br>
    	<img src="avatar.php?userid=15626&dateline=1018579426" border="0" alt=""><p>
    	<font face="verdana,arial,helvetica" size="1" >Registered: Feb 01<br>

    That's opera...that's not even CLOSE to 175px!! ***??

    In IE however...

    That's 175px TO THE NUMBER.

    That's just the closest example I can find...anyone else got any others they want to show me?
    I'm bringing geeky back...

    I'm sure it's just as compliant if not more than Opera!
    Well to a degree but it uses extra non-standard features!

    i thought netscape was better than IE? in all my tests it has been...
    Code:
    <a href="#" onmouseover="Layer1.style.visibility = 'visible';"><img

    src="http://www.domain.com/image.jpg"></a>

    <div id=Layer1 style="position: absolute; width: 150px; height: 150px; background: black; color:

    white; visibility: hidden;">blah blah</div>
    Works fine in IE. Doesn't budge in Opera. Had to go with a regular old boring mouseover navbar instead of a fancy drop down menu.

    I hate netscape. Opera is TOLERABLE..but i wouldn't use it..Netscape is pure ****.

    I guess you could blame it on Microsoft, but you mostly can blame it on the ones who design the sites like that.

    Joe Shmoe doesn't design websites, and Joe Shmoe who uses IE is guaranteed compatibility with most web sites...

    I know it may not be fair but that's the way the world is? Might as well use the browser that works best.

    OMG, I actually agree with him. A comparision would would probably be drug dealers and drug users. Just because its being offered, doesn't mean you need to use it.

    Thats a poor comparison crpt!

    I know plently of ppl who can sort of code in say vbscript, html etc but dont know much about programming.
    They dont know the difference they just use MS Frontpage and voila they have a web site they dont know anything about browsers and rendering and crap.
