I'd never say life is **** . . . . 'cos something worse could always happen . . . and also 'cos I believe in the 'half-full glass' philosophy.

I've got the "Great wife, great children," part and they're the only thing stopping me from putting an end to my miserable existence...

Yeah sorry - I have little responsibilities (like none) and can do that....
But, are you looking for work? At least then you're doing something positive about the situation.... then, when that super new job comes along, life will be great

He's crawling now, I'm 90% recovered.
My wife is gorgeous.
Sons' 1,2 and 3 are brilliant.

I can understand...
I was going to post a list of problems I have, but I'd rather keep them to myself. Needless to say, I could give you a list as long as your arm - and so could many others here...
...but I'd still say I have a wonderful life

Thanks for your comments Behemoth
At the moment I work about 5 miles from home (that's good! )
I finish a 13:00 on Fridays (also good)
I drive Class 1 HGV every Friday afternoon/night - that's why I usually pop into vbworld about 3am when I get in.
This work added an extra £4.5k Gross to my annual income
If I were to change jobs and was no longer able to do this I'd have to earn at least £4.5k pa extra just to break even.
Add to that extra traveling costs....
I live just south of Birmingham in a house that isn't big enough to swing a cat.
We pondered over the idea of moving north to buy a larger house for the same value as the house I'm in at the moment.
Sounds ok in theory but .....
.....I'm sick of trying to workout what to do for the best
I actually enjoy my work - programming: java, JSP, javascript, VB
The company is farcical though which is why I get pissed off so regulaly
We've got about £50K capital in the house which would be a nice start if we were to emigrate somewhere....
...but I can't even afford visit any other country and I think it would be a tad reckless to just do it and hope for the best

My uncle sold his 3 bed semi in southampton and moved near where I live.
He now has a 5 bed detatched house with massive gardens triple garage, and had enough money left to fully furnish and decorate it.
I know its a big decision but you will be amazed at the house prices up here.
And the people aren't as bad as you might think.

and are you worth that much? at least you've got a ballpark figure to play with. Thats my personal problem, I can calculate a figure for myself but I never stick with it. I lack the confidence to establish what I'm worth and almost always settle for second best

what the **** is wrong with you people?
I grit my teeth every day and put a smile on for people. It takes a whole ****ing load of effort, but sometimes it feels really worthwhile. Sometimes I really enjoy it.
So I come in VBF to talk to my friends and perhaps make new ones. I can leave my problems at the door and perhaps help someone out, and all I hear is drink-my-problems-away this and suicide that.
Sorry Guru, this isn't directly addressed at you, but I'm fed up of the giving in pessimistic attitude of a hell of a lot of people.
It wierd, but think positive and your life generally is positive. I haven't perfected it yet, but I'm getting there, and it'd be great if everyone else gave it a go too. If not for yourselves then for me.
rant over.

Behemoth,
Some people are happy to be negative. I myself swing between the two emotions so rapidly it's quite funny to watch.
Jerry Springers Final Thought:
Just remember people, when you are feeling like Guru felt earlier, hold on to that emotion. When things do get better (as they always do), it's easy to forget what things were like before, it's then you start to loose appreciation for all you have now, and all the things you should always be thankful for......
Ahhhh *deep breath*, I'm happy now
