The origin of "dinkum" actually lies in British dialect, where it meant "a day's allocation of work". "Your dinkum" was what you were required to get done so, naturally. a fair dinkum was a matter of some importance. The phrase "fair dinkum" existed in the Lincolnshire dialect.
"Pommy" does not come from "prisoner of Mother England" but from "pomegranates", rhyming slang for immigrants. "News" is not an acronym for north, east, west, south but a nominalisation of the adjective new. "Wog" is not "worthy oriental gentleman" or even "western oriental gentleman". Its origin is unknown.
