Thumbs up Thread that was a piss poor fart joke but is now a discussion about the word 'till'

    >A lady walks into a Lexus dealership. She browses around, then spots
    >the perfect car and walks over to inspect it. As she bends to feel the

    >
    >Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has

    >As she turns back, and there standing next to her is a salesman.

    Ah-ooh-ga! Ah-ooh-ga!

Bad joke alert! Clear the building! This is not a drill!

Guru, you know the expression "Take a pound out the till"? Well in your case we'll make an exception: "Put a pound in the till".

'Till' is British English for a 'cash register'.

So the expression means 'Well done, Sir (or Madam), you deserve a bonus."

A pound is also a unit of weight in that weirdass imperial system.

Put a pound in the till could also mean put 0.450 kilos of crap on the roof of the house.

Unless, of course, they thought it was Pound Weight. But then they'd've asked "a pound of what?".

    Half a kilo...

BTW Guru, while you're in the mood for qualifying the title, you should perhaps point out that it was about a 'poor' joke, lest anyone think it was worth reading in the first place.
