I wrote an app that has one form and one control in.I assigned a smaller than 15k help file(with 2 help topics one topic had a popup link to the other topic) to the project and then I set the whatsthisbuttonhelpid of the control to the helpcontentId of the main help topic(this is the help topic that contains the popup). So i run the app and I press the '?' onto the control. All went well up to here -I could see the main help topic-But when I click on the popup link that connect the main help topic with the 2nd one I got the message "There is not enough memory to run this task...".The pc had over 75Mb of memory free the total mem is 200Mb

Unhappy Now that's weird all right

Check how much of the primary memory, (first 640k) is free. Sometimes this can cause a memory error. What version of vb, windows, and what else was running to use 115 or so of memory?

When I post the first message I was using win2000 advanced server. But I also tried to run the app in win95 with the same results the avaliable mem is 550k of (640k).I think that this problem has nothing to do with the mem of the pc It has too much mem avaliable. It must be something else.I use vb6 sp4

Question Ok Win2000....no primary memory requirement

Just running through the various options, coz haven't really hit this problem with Help.

What about the Clip Board, maybe that has excess stuff stuck in it
