Hmm...and you only have your GF DDR in there now?

Perhaps your board suffers from the same low 5 volt rails that the 8K7A/8K7A+ suffers from.

Give that a shot. It's not as risky as one might think but be careful anyway. Basically just twisting a screw-like mechanism. It voids the warranty, but, meh, your probably going to want a new fan in that PSU anyway.

No his voltages seemed a bit low I told him to unplug a couple of things he wasn't using to see if they went up. Didn't work

if you check the voltage level at the plugin to the board then unplugging things from the board won't change those values. that is coming straight from the power supply. if they are low and most seem to be about .2-.5 volts low it won't hurt. but if you get about 2-5 volts low then your power supply is going.

The voltages weren't THAT bad, I think they were about 4.90 on the 5v and I think the 12v was about 11 something...high 11s...

But he had problems with his GeForce4 yet the GeForce DDR worked fine. Figured GF4 might have sucked up a lot of power and the 300 watt wasn't sufficient enough to power it...

It's one of those Antec 300w...

Oh. But it only has a Savage4 and a Duron 850...

GeForce4s suck up BIG power, not the weakling MX ones but the TI versions. GeForce3s are power eaters can imagine what a GF4 does unless they did a die shrink on GF4...but i didn't hear anything about one
