extracting files
I have a file stored in a mdb.
how do i programatically extract it and save it to disc?
i cant seem to get it into a string var even ...

I looked at it (in a hurry I admit) and thought you were linking directly to the files stored in the mdb without actually extracting them.
I guess from your reply I am wrong.
so I will shamefully sulk back to your tutorial and look closer.

Beacon,
That worked great, except i was unable to link an ole container to the recordset field i put the doc in.
I had to save it to a filename then link.
anyway to directly link an ole container to a document (word, excel) ?

Hmm ole container might not like it!
If you wish to use a control like ole container use they code that the Image Library tutorial uses then it should work.
Not the "Store any file in a database" thread!
