    Direct X 8.0 SDK help!!!!

    Hello,

I just downloaded the Direct X 8.0 SDK for VB6. But when I try to make a DX8 window(the easiest tutorial), I get a message saying that the user end is not defined or something. Is there something else I have to do to make the Direct X 8 SDK for VB6 work with VB6?

    Thanks for any help!

Included in the DirectX SDK are a number of examples, if they too come up with an error like this, you should try to reinstall the DirectX SDK. If the examples work fine, then you must be missing something in your code, or in the referencing of the DirectX 8 object.

The examples work fine. This time I copied and pasted the whole tutorial code into my test project and it still didn't work.

    1. Make sure, that you have referenced the DirectX object

    2. Make sure, that the tutorial isn't written for DirectX 7 (some of them are)

Besides that I can't really think of anything else, Sorry.

Did you add DirectX 8 typelib to the project reference list?

OK, I'll go for the destruction of the universe.
It will properly take me some time, but I'll get there.

If they died of old age or spontaneous combustion then i dont know what i am supposed to do about it. Maybe if the counter included people's names and cause of death i could filter out the one's that my apathy had an impact on. Doing that and subtracting the number of births over the same term would give me a more accurate guilt reading.

I thought it was 16 people died and 51 people were born every ten seconds.

Anyway, is it possible to make a Quake-like game with VB6 and Dirext X SDK? I mean not advanced as Quake, but a FPS tournament game.

It won't last long until it's the other way around

OKay, you may listen to what Zaei says now :P I'd like to add that the reason of this place not overflooding with Quake type engines is because there's no need to reinvent the wheel.

hey keda any prognosin on when this number thing is going to go the other way? are you changing you counter to birth than?
I really don't believe that it is going to change that soon, even though it probably will, but than I think it's a more radical way till then birthrates are gonna rise... (remember the "punk rock song" lyrics? I think there is some truth in there)

    What the hell is superconcious?

Theoretically, there is your subconcious, and your general concious. A concious that we are unaware of, and one that we are. Superconcious is when we realise that the world is spinning to a ghastly demise, and kill ourselves?

It's either that or be hit by a bus. That's how I want to die.
