Display Help!!
Hey guy's.
Ok on this crappy pc i've been given the joyous job of rebuilding there's this Gateway Vx700 Monitor.
Anyways i download the driver from gateway.com supposedly it installed but i only get the choice of running 16bit color or 8 bit color and this is annoying!
Ohh it's running 98se!
Gateway suck!

standard POS one from HP that came with the pc!!
Umm pc is a HP vectra about 4 years old or more!

1) I thought it was a Gateway
2) I need to know the exact model number so I know what video card we're dealing with...I don't think the monitor is very relevant to this problem...

Think Justin is right here beaker, you generally have this problem with bad vid card drivers.....

Nah figured it out after 3 hours!!
Whomever said windows is soooo ****ing good with ****ing video cards is a complete ****ing ****!!
The problem was when searching for video card drivers on the hp web site dont enter the computer model or model number enter one that is totally different and it works!

That's not a Windows problem, that's a HP problem

Well if windows is so ****ing good it would of had some mag-****ing-nificant list or recognised what card it was.
Yeah probably hp problem as well!
Those pavillions are alright you say that from a home user point of view tahts why!

HP may very well make good servers and stuff but let me tell you right now those home use machines are BIG pains in the ass

Aint blaming windows just proving that windows aint really that much better fro drivers than say unix is.
