Personally I use MP3s to judge whether I like the music before I buy it. That's the honest truth. I download recommended astists' tracks and if I like the music then I'll buy the album. I was very surprised at the ruling, since Napster does not hold the copyrighted material, it is transferred between clients. Perhaps it is stored temporarily on the server, which would make it illegal I guess.

This is even more stupid than when Demon Internet got sued for defamation when someone made defamatory comments about someone else on it's news servers. The world has gone mad.
