    Talking Audio: PC to Stereo

    I'm having a problem...

This Friday I'll be having a party at my house because on Saturday I'm going to be 17

Anyway, ALL my music is on my PC and the party is going to be in the living room.. so how can I connect my PC so I can play MP3s on my System that are controlled from my PC in my room...

what cables do I need and what do I need to do????

    thanks a lot!

    First of all..happy b-day

Secondly, I have a RCA audio jack to 1/8 headphone jack converter..look in Radio Shack or Best Buy for one and hook it up to the stereo, most of them have RCA jacks in the back, at least mine does.

Or you can get a pair of Z560s at Best Buy and maybe return em when you're done

Any computer store, electronics store, stereo store......ensure the sales clerk knows you are going to bring it back if it doesn't work..

Probably less than $5 US, they are even cheap in OZ....

I was asked to do this at my neighborhood gatherings with my laptop and FireWire drive, and a bigass stereo system. Worked out fine and I even fulfilled requests

i find that AUX can be a VERY ****ty way of connecting up, with crappy results (specially if you like the bass) if you have a SPDIF socket go for that, if you have an optical socket (like moi! ) even better! will make your stereo sing without the power pluged in!!

it is crappy, but it's the best he can do

I think he has an SB Live!

And many stereos don't have optical in, never mind optical out on the sound card
