Who's servers? If you mean an existing File Sharing Program's servers then you'll need to check their websites for code or something. Otherwise you'll have to make your own server then you can decide however you want to connect. Do a search I'm sure other people have done this.

i have a slavanap server. and i'm trying to make my own file sharing program that can connect to any servers. i just need to know what code i need.
if you know what i have to do it would be VERY helpful.

Hmmm... that's pretty ambitious for a newbie. You may want to learn to write general VB code before you go to something this complicated. To give you an idea, I've been coding VB for over 7 years and don't have a clue how to help you with this.
I suggest you go to some of the VB sites and check their code listings and use what you can.
do a search in google for "visual basic source code" and you'll get more info than you'd even want about VB.
Sorry I can't tell you more, but I don't have the answer you want.
