GemsNRocks, for Darre1, Cafeenman & anyone else

As promised, here is the latest incarnation of GemsNRocks. I have included a few levels, but an editor and more levels will follow shortly.

Please read the readme first, as in contains info that you will find usefull.

P.S. If you can complete all the levels i send, i will be impressed.

It's a game that's going to be even better than Lode Runner when he gets it finished. Everyone should get in on helping him out so he remembers us when he owns the biggest gaming company in the world and we're all selling Slushies at Jiffy Mart.

Hey... I read your instructions better. It's actually pretty fun, but difficult. I can't get past the 1st level. But I finally figured out how it's supposed to work.

I can see how a game with no game play instructions would help it become bigger than Lode Runner.


I opened it. I get a map with nicely colored rocks on it. Am I missing something?

He did say "Read the Readme file first because it has IMPORTANT information"

That means use the arrow keys to get the gems and avoid the rocks.

And yeah... he did mention me by name after all so of course I get preference.

Cafeenman:
If you like the first level wait untill you get to the later levels, there are things much smarter than rocks!
To aviod burrying the gems, get the ones at the bottom first.

Mendhak (and anyone who doesn't like readmes):

There is a summary of what the readme said.

Move with arrows or w,s,a and d - depending on your preference (and to some extend, the situation)

Collect gems, and aviod things that move

You can associate GNR with .gnr (map) files, or .grl (map list) files, to play them.

You can associate the editor with .gnr files to edit them (or load the levels as normal).

Man... I'm still on level one. That's why I stopped playing Lode Runner too. Now I just program in VB. But I suck at that as well. Come to think of, there's nothing I'm good at.

He hasn't asked, and I saw his code yesterday. This is vastly improved. He's been working hard. I guess he'll ask if he needs anything.

There hasn't actually been that much that has changed.

I just went back to putting in the first object, instead of creating it dynamicly, and made an array of alternative pictures for the gems and rocks. I did tidy up some of the map selection code though, as it was quite tragic before.

Cafeenman: Keep trying, you get there eventually!

Once you complete the first set of levels, have a go at the 'toughy' series. They are a lot more manic!

NB: to change maplist, load GNR then use the menus (pausing first, (click on the map)).
