Question Latest development in vb.net saga

Our supplier is claiming that vb.net standard replaces vb6 standard and vb6 professional. Not sure if this is true or not. Have emailed MS for confirmation....the whole thing sucks still..

vb.net will supercede VB6, but VB6 will be supported for years to come. So, don't let someone scare you into thinking it won't be around for a while.

Many of the new libraries, like GDI+, are still based in COM, so VB6 is not dead...yet!

Sorry Scott you are probably not up to date with my running battle with the evil MS...

At one of their conferences, pre-launch, they claimed vb.net would come in a professional release, which it hasn't.

Hellswraith has found a vb.net professional upgrade, and has a way cool way of installing it.

Unable to get that version downunder for no apparent reason. Our supplier is claiming that vb.net standard is the replacement version for vb6 standard and professional.

But Justin or some one, maybe Furby read somewhere that vb.net standard sucks bug time.

So am still trying to get an answer to this....

Will still be maintaining vb6 and vb5 software.

Can you buy the VS.NET professional? This of course comes with VB.net and all the professional resources. The upgrade price is only $175 (after rebate).
