uh ok why saskatchewan, you could save money buy executing me in alberta where they don't have sales tax, or execution tax

there is actually a free board i find just as good Wotlab Burning Board, although you have to fix a few translations since it was translated from german (the EULA for it is quite entertaining

).

I would have used it over vB, but it, along with phpBB and a ton of others, including ironically vB lite, never installed corerctly. At least vB has real support and an official hacks site...

ya but i am cheap, if i were putting up a forum i wouldn't buy one no matter how easy it is to install, i would spend hours and hours working on a free one so that it finally worked, needless to say if i had decided to work in that time i probably could have made twice the cost of the purchase one however i am quite subborn

To be truthful I wasn't going to "buy" vB at all, but then I got scared when I heard about the spy built into vB, and after being here for three years I broke down

i find snitz to be 20 times better
and more flexible at changing it around

Snitz doesnt come with too many options
but the open source people (including myself) wrote extentions for it to make it compete with vbulletin

Kinda like me with XP, one guy at school got a phone call from the RCMP about the final release version of XP, just before it came out

anyways we all had it, then we all got scared and as soon it came out we ran out and bought it

I run my forums my own way. He's been unbanned, but I'm not going to grovel on my hands and knees. Personally I don't care how your forums work out. Mine are primarly there to suppliment my site, but since most people have been referred from VBF, they tend to hang out in Chit Chat, with the notable exception of quite a few who submit Database tutorials (Whoo, Jeth

) and help out in the Hardware forum.

ikonboard (which is what i use) is free and better imo than vB. they also have an official hacks site, and you can do whatever you want with their code

why dont u do some research first to make sure it has new features that differ from other forums. if it is going to be strictly programming topics then maybe have it a forum / tutorial and snippet site and have the post count and amount of tutorials submitted added together into one tally called the 'contribution count' ??
