The opposite of love is indifference and I'm fairly indifferent about the place

Well, it's in my sig because I couldn't think of a decent signature of my own, and just adapted Bonker's.
Other than that, though, it's a wonderful country. I know it's frowned upon to like the UK in these days of New Labour, but personally I think it's a great place to live, full of history, culture, life, progress and a stunning variety of people.
And we spell properly.
p.s. Indifference is the absence of love. The opposite of love is hate.

petty laws and regulations

Most places are like that, these days. After all, our current government imported their style from abroad. At least we're still rational enough to frown upon it, even if we can't change it.
The weather gets me down sometimes, but that notwithstanding, there's nowhere in the world I'd rather make my permanent home.

Petty laws? What about some of the laws in the US (for instance, not to start a slanging match again please)

I understand that you can pick up farms in Zimbabwe for very little and there are virtually no laws and regulations. Want to go?
