Bloody advertising...
Don't know about the rest of the guys 'n gals here, but I'm really over the banner ads that some people have in their signatures. It's a bit bloody rude, I reckon.

Especially the ones that advertise alternative forums. Bit cheeky.

DUDE, I SAID A MONTH AGO I DON'T GIVE ABOUT WHAT HE DOES! Also my sig is all text, and last time I checked, only three lines, one of which was for helping me with a VB problem.

And a month and a day ago you were whinging about it, but suddenly, it works to your advantage to do the same thing, in competition with this place to make it worse, and now it's alright...pffft...

It's the blatant hypocrisy that bugs me in your case - this complaint started for a very different reason. I don't come here to be redirected to other crap through stupid banner ads, and nor does anyone else. This is the best free resource I've ever seen on the web - I hate seeing it abused and wasted by people trying to further some nonsense of their own through obnoxious banner advertising.
You just get scapegoated 'cause you're advertising another forum. Tough.

Jamie - I've probably only avoided a backlash so far because most of the culprits are still in bed.
On the bright side - there are quite a few who're moving to FudgebucketTips.com that I really won't miss here.

Heh - I've already had this conversation and I'm still refusing to be drawn. No point bad-mouthing people unless I'm making a specific point. Unless they're uncommonly thick-skinned, though, they know who they are.

I don't quite see the problem with "stealing members" because we're not.
Members at TT are just as active here as they were before, they just have somewhere else to go as well without all the religious bollocks pissing everyone off, members rubbing each other up the wrong way and all that crap. Many of the "anoyances" of VBF don't exist there, people like to escape to it and let others have the benefit of knowing about it too.
Megatron has said it's okay, so if he doesn't care why do you?

Because this is an online community and I see this as my online home.
And I don't like the thought of people advertising other communities online.
On IRC one would receive an immediate perm-kickban for advertising other channels in a channel

This isn't IRC; as the mods already pointed out, they don't mind other forums being "advertised"; and Megatron explicitly said that my signature was perfectly acceptable.
