Argh!
I had this really long post about my DivX movies that I will make, but I just want to know if these two are good choices, for low-end (modem download) and high end (cable/dsl/lan download).
Low End:
128kbps Stereo Media
500kbps DivX High-Motion
400x225
30 minutes is...
137mb
High End:
256kbps Stereo Media
1600kbps DivX High-Motion
800x450
30 minutes is...
407mb
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
(Just a heads-up)

The low-end is still a huge file for dialup, my guess would be that it would literally take a day or more to download. The broadband one is good, though.

no the low end one would take 7 hours and 36 minutes (over my modem anyways) that is at an average speed for a modem. the high end one would take 22 hours and 36 minutes. Keep in mind these are approxamate times, I have to do this alot so i have gotten my estimates pretty accurate

Well the movies aren't required, if the Dialup people really want they can pay us $2 and shipping costs to send them ToW on a CD Set

I get ~700 on broadband
54 kbits/sec, so 6.75 kbytes/sec is the theoretical max (yes, 54, not 56)

Yes, RR is the ONE good thing about AOL
that AOL high speed service is silly, it's probably just Road Runner with bloatware and a connection cap
RR however is a direct line to the intarweb with no crap

He was using DAP, he started about a week ago, I think he has had about three download sessions so far, leaving it on overnigh and such like. I am hoping he will burn it to CD for me when he is done He was lucky, for the first two sessions he was able to maintain about 15 kb/s but now it has gone down to the nore usual 3.4!

that is risky, the biggest file i have ever downloaded is 400megs over dial up, but if i am downloading a large file i do it in one shot, i find if you use getright or something, and stop it multuple times getright/DAP will "forget" one or 2 packets therefore ****ing your download up. that really isn't a problem on a 5 meg file but if you are downloading a linux CD and one packet is ****ed then you are also ****ed

Yeah, I told him something along those lines and that he should just buy it but he is quite determined. It'll be so funny if it does mess up! I'll be LMAO.
