    monitor problem

I have a monitor that came with my old pc that somehow goes orange whenever i bump the cord coming out if it. Ive figured out that its the base of the cord, close to where the plug goes into the back of the computer. The opposite end of the wire is hardwired to the back of the monitor (at least it looks that way; there isnt a plug, it just goes in tha casing). Can the plug be replaced so I dont have to get a new monitor? I can take a pic if you want.....

That could be. The cord near the plug to the computer is all bent (it only works if it is bent that way though)

Yep, it's the cord. Don't try to bend the pins yourself-- this happened with my CTX monitor (nice monitor too, old but good) and I screwed it up permanently, I managed to get ALL the pins out.

You have to be really careful when rebending pins, CPU pins are the worst to break (don't worry i only broke a 12 mhz cpu and i didn't bend the pins in the first place, they were already smooshed i was trying valiantly to fix it).

Yep, when my XP1700 arrived, one of the pins was bent. Took much caution and care to get it back in place.

Imagine if I had spent $600 or $700 on a Northwood 2.4 and I busted it.

well you could drill a hole through the center and put it on a necklace. Wouldn't you look cool "I spent $600 on this necklace"
