From my understanding at the Microsoft Web site, the stand alone VB is just available in "Standard" edition. What is missing, I don't know yet. I just picked it up last week and I have been wondering myself.

As I replied to Jethro in another post, everything is part of the framework now..it is not like VB6 where different versions had components and features missing.
Even the code for the form designer is part of the framework so it is possible to create an IDE with the exact same functions and power as Microsofts IDE with just the framework.
