get size of the desktop exluding taskbar??

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to retrieve the size of the desktop window, exluding the taskbar???

I have used the get desktop window API, and get Window Rect API together but It includes the taskbar in the size of the window.. Is there a way round this...

If not the how can I retrieve a handle to the taskbar and calculate the size of the desktop...

Thanks Hack, I had found a way round it by retrieveing the taskbar size... and calculating but your way is much better.

That is a pretty cool routine. I have a routine that will tell me the taskbar position and size, but I didn't have one that gave me the desktop area minus the taskbar, so I'm glad you asked you question.
