    Question

I was messing around with a directory that i had created..and i used the "Name" Function to change the name of the file in the directory that i created which worked fine...but why didnt my anti virus respond to the file name changing thats one of the anti virus functions isnt it? to watch for files that changes it's name all of a sudden??

    Thanks.

No actually the anti-virus programs scan the files on your hard drive and they try to find certain kinds of patterns in the files and parts of code from know viruses. Why would it look for name changes what will be the point. Names change all the time and I don't know any virus that changes any file names or at least it isn't a common thing for viruses.

The reason i asked was because once i changed the name on my computer from "My Computer" To "Computer" And My norton anti virus appeared saying that suspiscious activity was taking place..

That is suspicious activity. Norton AntiVirus will detect main stuff like that. They also detect if files have been moved. But, not renamed. Except important files..it'll monitor it.
