You know How When there are New Posts on a forum or thread the Icon Is Red, or gold for forums.
I can't figure out what's making it Switch Back, sometimes it keeps the Icons Red For Ages and Other Times it Changes really Quickly. Is there something wrong with It, I can't seem to Figure out any pattern to it.
Could we have a Clear New Posts button, which makes all the posts old so It's quicker to check for new ones.

Red = New Posts
White = No New Posts
Everytime someone posts something new, it turns red..if something hasn't been posted in a few hours..it turns back to white. Understand?

Matthew,
I think Sam knows that. He has been here a while.
What Sam was getting at is that their is no discernible pattern to when the Icons revert to grey. I myself have noticed this. The icons in the Chit-Chat seem to go grey quicker than the ones in the General.
Sometimes they will stay red for hours even when they have had no new posts, other times they will revert to grey within minutes.
I think it is based on the current time, the last time you logged on, and some other variable, but it is hard to tell with the erratic behaviour.
Iain, thats with an i by the way!

General VB Questions and Chit Chat are different...Chit Chat posts don't count..G.VB.Q posts do. But yes, I guess I will be with you as well ;].

The posts will remain 'new' until there is no activity from your account for 15 minutes. So if you keep on coming back every 10 minutes, the 'new' posts would stay new, but it you came back every 20 minutes, the new posts would be old when you came back.

UnFortunatley That means that If I'm waiting for New Posts and keep Checking the Old ones stay New So I have to Keep Checking, and If I'm answering a big post but want to Keep Everything else New so I know what I havn't seen yet then Everything Goes Old again. If I take More than 15 Minutes answering.
Can We Have Some Options Up the Top To Make All The Posts Old or to Keep New Posts New For a While, That'd be Handy.

I would like to have it this way;
When you press refresh in your browser, all new posts turn old, while the new ones turns red.
And then I would like to disable this automatical updating

writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
writing haskell makes your life easier:
reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13
To throw away OOP for low level languages is myopia, to keep OOP is hyperopia. To throw away OOP for a high level language is insight.
