    Using Old OLE files

Is there a way to us an older version of OLE automation?
I tried to add it under references but that does not seem to work. I have
    the old OLE file.

    I have a program I wrote with visual basic 6.0, on a windows 98 machine. I
upgraded to windows XP and now after compile & package, it install a newer
OLE files on the installed machine. These new files cause errors on
machines I install the software on. They are running windows 98 and using
an old software program that they can't update.

    Any help would be great!

    Old OLE files on XP

    Hi
Not helping, but confirming problem. I am using Win XP-Pro and the app previously packaged under Win 98 worked on client m/c's fine, now it is failing on some NT machines
    Offending files are oleaut32.dll, stdole2.tlb, asycfilt.dll.

XP version appears to be 3.5.5014.0 but NT uses 2.40.4277.1 there is also another version for Win 9x of 2.40.4275.1

Trouble is i dont know how to get these changed on the client machines now. Do i just copy the correct files into the 'support' directory or will the install ignore these because they are older than the 'now' installed ones.

Lets hope someone can help us

    Old OLE files on XP

    You got it right.
I was able to boot to a DOS prompt and copy the OLE files into the system folder and reboot. This was on a Windows 98 machine. The install would not work because the files are newer.
What I would like is a way to select which OLE files & version to use and package with your program. Right now it uses the file installed on your system.

    Help!!!
