Aren't Microsoft great?
Anyone know of a decent non-Microsoft site to discuss Windows/Office problems etc. Their own 'newsgroup' is a pile of pants.

Seaford? Didn't know they had programming jobs there...

They don't, but that's where I live and do the odd VB home projects. The rest of the time I'm sat at work (Horsham), like now.
Mind you you, can't say there's masses of programming here either - only when I'm well behaved.

I'd have thought Horsham was a bit of a 'mare to get to from Seaford. I'm guessing you don't let the train take the strain.

Yeah, Horsham is somewhat of a 'mare to get to from Seaford. And I don't take the train, but even goin' in the car's pretty bad as well.
So, being bored of Horsham, and not enough VB in my job, I'm kinda getting fed up.
So where do you abide to have enough knowledge to discern my travelling problems?

Well, if I ever decide to look for a job that's more local (granted, three-fifths of the time that's not technically possible), knowing how long it takes to get to Horsham might be handy.
Obviously, I don't need an additional reason for avoiding Hastings.

I live in the mighty Telscombe Cliffs, but work in London. Well, for two days a week, anyway. The other three I work from home.
Tough, tough life.

Well most days it's a good hour from Seaford to Horsham. A26, A27, A23, A264 - what fun.
I can't believe I'm even discussing this. I must be seriously bored.

Believe me, Steve - for chit-chat, this is highbrow indeed.
When I start talking about the train times from Newhaven to London - and worse, when you start paying attention - then you've got cause to be worried.

Telscombe Cliffs eh? I lived in Peacehaven for all my young years (well the first 20 of them), I've since moved to Seaford cos it's a bit of a dump (in my humble opinion).
Well, it's a small world. Just a shame we have to travel about so much.
And I personaly think there's enough distance between Telscombe/Seaford and Brighton to avoid the 'alternative side' of the East Sussex coastline.

IAN LIVED IN THE GAY CAPITAL OF ENGLAND
for a year? My my.
Must be why I'm so drawn to you, butch.

Yep. Notice that I carefully avoided any mention of Peacehaven because it is, indeed, a bit of a dump. I quite like Telscombe, though.
We're definitely far enough away from Brighton to avoid being lumped in with their preferences, but Ian, fond as he is of sheep, is desperate to find someone else with an, um, alternative lifestyle.

It was a mixture of floods, four hour journeys (each way) and me throwing my toys out of the pram. Add to that an excellent manager and a smattering of luck, and there you have it. I've had this arrangement since November 2000; before that it was London every day. I don't miss it.
No jobs going at the moment, unless "Steve" is short for "Stephanie"... Or unless you reckon you could stop Ian from making it through the lobby.

steve, just for your information, I also live on the south east (Hastings) as I 'm sure that you picked up from Duncan. Also that Dunken And I work within spitting distance of each other. Just so you don't think were a bunch of nut cases, well not me anyway

Yeah I kinda figured you weren't communicating for the first time.
But you sound about as sane and rational as I feel most of the time.
So, don't s'pose Tideway ever came anywhere near you then Duncan?
Oh dear....... let's start up a parallel friendsunited.com - what a great idea. Sad ole gits who are s'pose to be doing VB, but have nothing better to do than rant off insane and useless textual diarrhoea.
Hmmm, best be going home. Good hours drive you know, better watch the traffic.......

Tideway? Not me, Guv. I'm not really a local boy; born and educated in Scotland.
I don't know whether you've been in chit-chat much before today, Steve, but be warned: it's a real time-thief. I spend far longer in here than I should. Just don't go into the post race; people have gone in there and never come back out. Luckily, we don't miss most of them*.
Drive carefully, and mind that bridge at Newhaven.
*For the touchier amongst you: this was a joke.
