Information on hooking up MIDI compatible keyboard into Computer

I have a MIDI compatible keyboard. I was wondering how i could hook it up to my computer (i know its possible). I would have to buy a MIDI cable, but i'm not sure what the cable would plug into on my computer side. Anyone got any info on this?

you would need an audio card that would support the midi input

or you can buy a seperate pci card just for midi

your game port is your midi port that is what it was origianlly designed for

Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.

You can get cables that are joystick at one end, and two midi connectors (in and out) on the other.

Note that you plug the "in" cable into the "out" on your keyboard...
