What Graphics programs do they use?
Does anyone know what 3D graphics programs that games like Final Fantasy 10 and Diablo, etc use. I would like to buy a copy and start practicing. I was wondering if it was Softimage or ULEAD COOL 3D or something? Someone please tell me. I want to get the right one. I dont want to invest my money in one that nobody is using. I want to learn the one that the industry leaders are using.

The industry leaders are probably using 3D Studio Max and Lightwave, but my advice is to learn 3D theory and general modelling skills in a free 3d environment (or a few free ones) first, then pick up a trial version of a few and see which ones you like.

thanks for your help. I went to Alias/Wavefronts website and read up on the Maya software. It seems that that is the primary thing that they use. Im getting me a copy

well I believe there are older versions of 3ds Max that are in an affordable price range. I have seen it a friends (who really is into that stuff) and I think it is really what you would need for game graphics
