    Question for the uni students

Just wondering what you guys & gals are doing about accommodation. Have you started looking for a house for next year yet? Got one sorted out?

I looked at a house today with a few mates (it was a sh**hole but never mind ) and I'm wondering how things are going in terms of timescale. Quite a few of the houses we've enquired about have been already taken for next year.

Cool Is that like halls or is it just a uni managed house? Like, a house where the uni is the landlord I mean. I could probably get into halls for next year (since I'll be a final year) which is great for convenience of being close and having lots of friends close by, but I really want to live in a house so I can get cable and a phone line and generally misbehave

This year I'm in a house, but the uni is landlord. I'll be staying in the houses again next year but I think they will be privately owned. The houses are just across the road from the uni campus and I don't have to pay for energy or water. It was fine this year so I thought I'd stay put

Yeah, good idea. Apart from anything else, it saves moving all your stuff! I had to move out of halls during the holidays in the first year, which meant I moved all my stuff there and back home 3 times in total. Then moved it back to my new house for the second year, then back home for the summer, then to halls while I was looking for a house again this year, then into the house I live in now.... moving is a real pain.

I have accumulated so much stuff over the past couple of years. I have no idea how I'm gonna get big stuff like the exercise bench back home with all my stuff in my Polo :s It's not exactly a car built for moving house with.
