    web apps

i am tring to get an asp.net web app to work on my laptop but can't even open the design view.
I am running XP. I've tried to install IIS but it doesn't exist in the windows component box to add. Does this mean I have to purchase it seperately?

All I wanna do is get the web apps running locally!

    Cheers
    Nick

look for Microsoft Management Console(I beleive that it what it will say)

then after it is installed and you run it, goto the console menu, select Add Snapins..thne find Internet Services(or something like that) and add it.

Are you running XP Home or XP Professional? If you are running XP Home, then i dont think it has IIS to install.

Both the same. MS does not support IIS on XP Home, but do a search on the net for hacks to get it to work.

unfortunately the cracks I've found require you to have the XP pro cd's anyway! So I might as well buy the upgrade.
