Question How dramatic is hernia surgery nowadays?

How long is the hospital stay, and recovery typically?

A coupla days, I gather. They just do a quick slice'n'dice, push it back in, maybe sew some internal stitches to keep it in place, and put you back together.
A couple of days is all the recovery should take.

    Got some medical probs John?

That is to say, the hospital recovery would only be a few days, it might be a week or more til you heal up again, you gotta make sure not to bust it out again...

Does it involve a flushing sound at the end?

A protrusion, consisting of an organ or part which has escaped from its natural cavity, and projects through some natural or accidental opening in the walls of the latter; as, hernia of the brain, of the lung, or of the bowels. Hernia of the abdominal viscera in most common. Called also rupture.

I went to med school, honest

Not too bad.. I even think that the chance of survival has increased from 2% to around 5 or so
