VB 2 Java
Hi
Is it easy to go from knowing VB and learning Java?
This is work related it is not my decision.

I don't know Java but the one time I tried to learn it it seemed fairly logical, I just gave up because I had no real use for it. You should have no problem.

If the only language you know is VB, you will probably have to make an effort to learn Java, although the same goes if you didn't know anything at all 
Knowing VB you have learned the common ways of thinking when programming (variables, decisionmaking-structures etc.) , and that will come in handy.
When it comes to designing .. say user-interfaces nothing beats VB in simplicity vs functionality. If you are used to VB, Java will seem somewhat more of a hassle; at least it did to me.
