    Question How do I access Betrieve?

    Does anyone know how to access a Betrieve file from withing VB.NET? I need this to access rates from an old system that is still in use.

    Just in case someone is searching the archives for this:

    Pervasive Software has an ODBC driver for betrieve files. (WWW.Pervasive.com).

    You need to create DDF files using their tools. (I'm using betrieve version 4, but the ODBC driver is for version 7 so my DDF files were not good enough). The version 7 DDF files will read version 4 betrieve files. Pervasive/Betrieve is very good at being backward compatible.

    Actually, Pervasive SQL version 7 (Pervasive SQL was an upgrade of betrieve) support ended on 12/31/2001 so you should upgrade to a newer version.
