    Ideas for game

I have been programming for quite a while now, and although I don't know everything about VB6 (hey, I'm still at school), I feel I'm ready for something CHALLENGING.
Ne1 got ne ideas for something that could test me??
(and absolutely NO kill osama bin laden ones (theres too many out there already, and I can't be bothered to put together an animation sequence of him getting punched in the face ( been there, done that))
so if you have any ideas that aren't sick or twisted, tell me them!

Make an Rpg kind of like diablo. Have it create a new map each time. Have like a campaign mode and a just kill some monsters mode. Use masks to make things transparent.

Or make an RTS like Knights & Merchants, with a not too simple production cycle and some fancy strategic possibilities. (K&M is an RTS where you need to build a village and gather food, wood, stone, coal, ore etc in order to build up an army. There are 4 types of troops (Pikemen, Swordsmen, Knights and Archers) in two classes (made from renewable/non-renewable resources). The game is great, except that the unit and enemy KI sucks so much that it is almost unplayable).
You could create a tile based map with height differences and different terrain. You could maybe add a simple-to-use map editor.

everyone should make an RPG and some1 should test them out
to see which one is better...
and then sell them on the internet and buy bologna and cheese
    sandwiches...

    Lightbulb Try 2D first

I am in a similar situation. (Still at school, looking for a challenge)
Apart from learning other languages (C++, assembly etc.) I made tetris, (Harder than is sounds if you want it to look nice), and I suggest you try something 2D, like a kind of sim-city, or 2D golf.

i like the whole idea of creating games, cause i think i might be
good at it, i come up with really coool ideas, like
detecting another object coming in contact with another,
and reacting accordingly. Like once i was making an RPG and
the guy had to move blox and stuff, but i never get to finish
my games cause something happens (computer crash) or i just
    get bored

Make a racing game, those are fun. I think people don't play racing games enough these days.

Exclamation Make sure you finish it!

THis applies to all people making games.
WHatever you do, if you've started making a game, FINISH it!!!
I know from experience that the worst thing is have half-completed games lying around on the Harddrive. You look back in a years time and think, 'Hey, this program i made last year looks good, I'll try it' only to find it isn't complete. You then look back at the code, and have no idea what is happening !!!
The second worst thing to do is start making anoher game while you are making the first!!! THis leads to unfinished games. (See above!)
