Bexhill is a lovely part of the the world. Very lively place, with bridge mornings and Bingo. Great place to find new love, that is if you love grannies

Depends on what your looking for mate. you could quite easlily get a nice little B&B in village near Oxford for instance and do the culture weekend, go down to brighton and sample the fine night life, spend a weekend in Paris (which is fine apart from it's full of french people ). the list goes on ...........

DW, Belgium is a big possibility. I was thining Bruges or Antwerp maybe, but Ardennes seem like a good option - I was drinking Chimnay Blonde last night, so feeling a wee bit Flemish this morning Any good info?

Antwerp is an excellent choice. My home town, see ?
As for the Ardennes, try the region around Liège (Hoge Venen),
the deep Ardennes (around Luxemburg) or the Namur-Dinant region.
Whatever you do, stay away from Charleroi (that's trouble there )

It's our beer innit ?
The beer's good, the food's good, the people are nice (if not somewhat dull ) and we spend half the year there (and our money too) so it can't that bad, can it ?

What does the name Antwerp refer to?
Antwerp derives from the old Flemish medievil concatenation of a popular singer of the 1600s, Adam Ante and the sound cheap shoes make when they're wet. This was a natural coalition, as Mr Ant, being from a poor background, often sang sole music whilst working as a cobbler.
Nowdays of course, ha, Antwerp is a young, vibrant city, with expensive shoes aplenty.
Probably

I think it actually means "Land of the Twerps", or "Home of the Twerps" - something like that. Am I close?
Gaff - why not try a skiing weekend? They're all the rage at the moment.

You would've been closer if you said "Big pile of cow dung"
Adam Ante ... good one

Although I wouldn't bother with the Highlands unless you only intend to do touristy stuff, because the nightlife is almost non-existant...

Great food, great wine, decent people, history out the wazoo,
culture from 300 years before France was discovered, good
exchange rate.....

excellent stuff
Peeman, Thermae2000 is my preference, maybe staying in ****** rather than Maastric this time...dunno....
Berlin is also up there on the list. Rekjavik I know is "cool", but probably by design of the people that bought into it (Damon Albarn et al...)
Der Farm - Lisbon would be fantastic, but I think it's a bugger to get to on a Thursday evening.... maybe not. ave you been?
