How long did it take all you gurus and VB masters to achieve such a high level of skill in the art of VB?

We are all a modest bunch so perhaps you ought to direct your question to some members in particular.

I don't consider myself anywhere near good. But I've known some VB for 3 years. I took one class and the rest is self taught (with the great help from you guys ) But next year the high school has lots of options.

I am pretty good.
but I am not even close to some of the people on here,
I have been making programs in VB, for about one year, maybe 1.5...
and I am thinking it will take another 1 to 1.5 years to really be GOOD in it.

7 Inches, ehm i mean 7 years
Use
writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
writing haskell makes your life easier:
reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13
To throw away OOP for low level languages is myopia, to keep OOP is hyperopia. To throw away OOP for a high level language is insight.
