Talking Working on such a thing...

    Hi there,

I'm already working on such a project. I think it looks quite good. And till now it works without big bugs.

Estimated I will finish it till the end of this month.

If someone's interested I could post some screenshots and a short specification.

    Sorry, here's the rest:

    - built-in browser
    - project-overview (all projects are listed within a treeview with some additional information)
    - list of all files regarding the projects (project-specific)
    - possibility to make templates
    - drag&drop functionality
    - address and information database about your clients
    - automatic recognition of file-type with automatic putting it into the right folder (customizable)
    - printing the source-code or additional documents
    - inscription at 21(!) search engines

    Still in progress:
    - Printing project-information like client-address and so on

    manco:
At the moment the whole program is German. I will try to finish also an english version but I don't know If it is possible "till the end of this month".

    Screenshots

    Now here are two screenshots.
At the moment my program has about 8 several forms. I've just done two screenshots of the most important forms.

    The first one:

This form I've called the 'Projects Overview'. Within the TreeView the first node is called 'Templates'/'Vorlagen'. Here you can drag&drop your template files.

The next 3 nodes are 3 several projects. When you expand one of the nodes you can see more information about that project e. g. client information (address, phone and so on), a short description and the year when the project has started.

When you click one node the lower part of this form comes to be important. Here you can see a list of all files which are contained in the chosen project.
The superscriptions of the 3 columns are: 'Filename', 'subdirectory', 'filetype'

With my next posting there comes a second screenshot with more information.

    So long... bye

Second one of the promised screenshots

So, here comes the second screenshot. It's a screenshot of the options-form.

Here you can do some settings regarding 'Common settings', 'Editor' and 'Browser'.

On this screenshot you can see the options for the implemented editor. You're able to change the font, font-size and font-color. Moreover there's a checkbox for enabling syntax-highlighting. (I'm still working on it, but I think yesterday I've found the right algorithm)

Now a question: What do you think about that project? Are there any features you're still missing?

    Thanks for your answer,

    René

    Translation & Features

Yes, I will translate it into English.

HTML-Syntax-Highlighting is working now but I'm still working on some other features.

I'm thinking about implementing a FTP and Email client. Do you think it will be useful?

By the way it will be a software for people who do website-programming in a professional way. So there will be some functions to manage all your clients, orders, quotes and so on. But these features will still take some time.

    so far,

    René

    directory structure

    It's so:

When you have chosen a project in the "all projects" window you will be able to add files to it. When you have chosen a file which you want to add, the software evaluates the file type and sets the subfolder as follows:

    file type subfolder
    -------------------------------------
    index.htm; /
    index.html

    *.htm; *.html /html

    *.doc; *.txt; /doc
    *.rtf

    *.gif; *.jpg; *.jpe; /pics
    *.jpeg; *.png;...

    *.css /styles

    *.js /scripts

    -------------------------------------

Though you're able to change the subfolder. Beside this I'm working on an ability to set a project folder and the opportunity to copy each file to this folder when you're adding the file to the project.

Is this the "directory structure" you've meant?
