To understand recursion, one must first understand the concept of recursion.
Create a colour key component, and set its low and high values both to an RGB colour. Then, set the surface's colourkey and draw with the SRCCKEY or something like that in the Blt operation. You'll find more details at a place like this: http://rookscape.com/vbgaming/
