    My First 3D Animation!! (WOW)

Well After 2 hours of instructor-led step-by-step learning, I was able to create (not so) stunning graphics... I made LEGO!! MWaHahahahhahaha

Here it is... lemme know what you think, rant, cheer, yell, ooh, and ahh all you want... see if i could care less!

    post some comments please...

    First Image:

    Lego Attacks (2 hrs)

    Second Image:

    Lego Rework (20 mins)
-- just rotated the camera and added some fire to heat things up

    Alright!
Well, I just felt the need to let the whole world see how I have learned and created a (not so) stunning piece of art in 2 hours and 20 minutes without knowing jack **** about 3D animation or the extremely expensive ($85,000 per license product) MAYA 4.

Erm, I think you can get it for much less, but that is the license our school has for the product.

    Cheers,
    MoMad

The Maya people are developing a free learning edition at the moment, for us people who cant afford the full version.

That's quite cool - A good thing to put on DVD if you have a RW drive.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.
    (Just a heads-up)

Thanks everyone, I will post my other projects also (at least a screen shot)... and I will use most of the 3d gfx that I make in this course for the game that I am making in my Game Dev Course!

Zaei: That version will not allow you to save! And it is a stripped down version of the full.

Sastraxi: Thanks. I am planning on rendering all of the artwork for my 2d game in 3d and then use them Its much easier and funner that way! Also, I will have some animations for an intro and cd cover by the end of the course!

007shahid: A Free 3d modeling tool that is much simpler and includes a wide variety of things is Blender. Its free and there are tutorials and books and all kinds of references. Also, they have 3d models you can play around with and that sortt of stuff... and a Game Engine to test out your "world", with built-in collision detection, incase you make a world but wasnt fortunate enough to make the Game Engine.

    The link is:

    http://www.blender3d.com/

    or

    http://www.blender.nl/

It's mad illegal, but if you don't care, go to http://www.musiccity.com and download Morpheus. In Morpheus search for software named "3D Studio Max FULL" and you should get lots of files listed. Double click and wait

Oafo, I just noticed your sig, nice =D

    try this one:

    VB Code:
    1. Private Function Hello(hUser As String) As String
    2.  Dim c$, temp$, i&, str$
    3.
    4.  For i& = 1 To Len(hUser$)
    5.   c$ = Mid$(hUser$, i&, 1)
    6.   temp$ = Chr(Asc(c$) - 25)
    7.   str$ = str$ & temp$
    8.  Next i
    9.
    10.  Hello$ = str$
    11. End Function
    12.
    13. Private Sub Form_Load()
    14.  MsgBox Hello("fˆfz}")
    15. End Sub

    Talking Was that in VB

Did you do that Lego thing in VB, 'cos it's pretty good.
If you have enough money, or a good friend (with cable internet), see if you can get 3ds max. It is very good for that sort of 3D animation
(In fact, its what they used for Tomb Raider)

P.S. How many posts do you need to no longer be a Junior member??
