What program can you write in VB
Can anyone tell me the limits of Visual basic. In real world applications, what sort of program would be written in visual basic. Can you create very powerfull programs in Visaul basic or is it limited to very small applications.
Many thanks in advance

Virtually VB's range is small
but with some good techniques and knowledge, of course,
you can write almost any applications, except system apps.
Why we discourage VB but still uses it?
Everyone's a lamer. They don't want to be known for their
lamerness. But they want to be a lamer. Who's the real lamer?
VB's the real lamer. Why VB's the real lamer? Coz Microsoft makes
it lamer. And why would Microsoft make it lamer? Coz Bill wants
to earn money from lamers. Why he wants to earn money from
lamers? Coz he's one of them but better in terms of lamerism.
Actually, VB's really slow. I can tell you that it's kinda an intepreter
Everything is done through msvbvm60.dll or whatever.
But of course, you can be a lamer without acknowledging other
lamers.
ASM,C,C++,BASIC,VB,JAVA,VBS,HTML,ASP,PHP,mySQL,VB.NET,MATLAB
Programming is fun, but only if you're not on a tight deadline
So I consider all those working engineers sad people

You can make lots of useful programs in vb, like for example Global divx player (http://www.divxcity.com/) was made in vb.
Why don't you go to http://www.planet-source-code.com/vb and check it out for yourself....

Where do you get this from? VB might be slow, but it's range is definetly not small.

We got a client who has 800 users hooked up to a unix/universe server. Front ends are all in vb using redback to massage the data in universe. This is a full range of business applications.
