I'd get cable... but you need cable lines for that When we first moved into this house, there was a cable line coming into the house, but it was in the way of our basketball court, so my dad cut it. We have satellite, and I'll take DSL over 56k ANYDAY.

Is he using the Dial-Up server that comes with Windows? I was thinking about using that, and selling dial-up to my neighbors for like $5 a month, and then using the money towards paying the DSL bill.

Actually, STQ doesn't have a T1 line. He has dual Cable modems. I asked him a couple of months ago how he got a T1 line in his house, and he told me it's not a genuine T1, but two cable lines.

How on earth can 2 cable lines be a T1??
I think a T1 line is only 1.544MB/s.
http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=T1
So technically, a highspeed cable modem would equal a T1, but without the fluctuations when more or less people are sharing the bandwidth.
Now if he said somthing about him having a T3 line then, you would know he was an outright liar... 44.736MB/s

100$ a month
the only reason my parents are getting it is because itss come out cheaper than what we pay now.
50$/month phone
40$/month 2 extra phone line
20$/month internet
we'll be paying the same or about the same with DSL and really basic phone, we dont call too much so it doesnt matter
we had 3 phone lines, one for me/modem, one for my sister/her modem, and one for just phone calls.
im hooking up our DSL to one of the cable/dsl routers by linksys, so its all good
