For book recommendations, I would go to amazon.com, navigate to their books section, then computers, then certification (MCSD), and browse through the various titles and look at the reader's reviews (they rate the books from 1 to 5 stars).
Probably the best book for the VB tests is the one by Howard Hawhee (published by New Riders). I have the book (haven't taken the tests though) and it does cover all the bases (it is also rated highly on amazon.com). For the Analyzing Requirements exam, you'll have to see what books the readers recommend. For your elective, you should probably go with the SQL Server exam (which is also an elective for the MCSE, I believe). Again, check reader reviews for a good book on it.
Good luck.
