Oh? I ran the whole VS.NET on 98
You need to install the Windows Component Update CD on everything you're going to run it on (98 is the minimum, BTW - 95 is definitely not supported).

I successfully installed the .NET Framework onto WIN98 from the Component Update Disc but when I run setup.exe from the same disc I get prompted with :
"Microsoft Visual Studio cannot be installed on Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows ME. You must install Windows NT 4.0 or later and rerun setup"
Am I missing something to be able to install .NET on WIN98?

Which version do you have?
Beta 1 installed on 98 for me, but there might have been changes in later versions. Either way, I don't blame MS for not supporting 9x - it's a terrible development platform, just not stable enough.

95, 95OSR1, 95OSR2, 98, 98SE, ME
Anyway, they're moving away from the 9x legacy, and that means leaving support out in .NET.
Fair play to them, I say.
