    Question uuummmm......

... I don't think this is right. My computer is a 433MHZ Intel Celeron, 128MB RAM, 4MB video memory. This is the comp I'm programming my game on. I get about 40-50 fps.
I got on another computer that is 700MHZ Intel Celeron, 64MB RAM, 8MB video memory. On this computer I ran my game and I got 8 fps! It runs like a slug!!!!
Why is my game doing this on a faster computer?!!! Can anyone help? I really don't understand this.

It all comes back to me now!

Does anybody know what's wrong with this here? Today I got on my brothers computer which is almost identical to mine and my game ran at its regular speed but why doesn't it work on the other better computer. At school I tested it on another faster, better computer and I got the same slug slow performance.

    Can anybody help?!

I don't think it's the OS because the computer at school was running on Win '98 as does my computer at home. The other computer I tested on at home was the 700MHZ and it has Win ME. I don't think that's the problem.

I just put my game up on my website so people can download. Can you people tell me what FPS you're getting? Along with you're other comp system information? Thanks.

Also any info on the new site design is appreciated.

One more thing... can you guys post your replies in my post in the General Vb forum?

Thanks, this keeps me from having to check two different posts.

It could be that the surface is larger than 64mb, making it be placed in virtual (very slow) memory rather than physical RAM.
All contents of the above post that aren't somebody elses are mine, not the property of some media corporation.

That's not the problem I think. I'm not storing my entire map in memory anymore. Now I'm drawing the map to the screen as its shown. It cuts down on the memory but it also cuts my fps down somewhat. So, I don't think its conflicts with ram. Have you downloaded the game yet?

    Thanks for the help though.
