What are we competing for anyway? Has it been decided yet? Might I suggest complete control of the universe. Or, barring that, complete control over Wisconsin?

If they'll have me, I'll join my fellow Canadians .
I lack a lot of experience, but learn quickly and have a fair bit of natural skill at programming.

A rule that I think should be in place is that programming must be done in VB. No code you wrote yourself in C++/Assembly/whatever, and calls can only be made to non-VB code included by default with the operating system (ie. standard API calls and such).
What do you guys think?

Suggestions for contest:
-made-from-scratch encryption algorithms
-A generic function that can be used to determine whether a dynamic array has had memory allocated for it that works without error handling
Note that the above suggestions are intended to give me an advantage .

I know, I was joking .
Hopefully at least some interesting algorithms will be required though, that'd make it more fun to code .
