Unique IDs
Hi all!
Would anyone have an algorithm to create unique Ids from a combination of LAST Names ,FIRST Names , Address and City fields?
All ideas are welcome...
Thanks in advance...

our company uses 5 and 2... first 5 letters of the last name.. first 2 letters of the first name... once a duplicate is encountered, they simply add an incrimenting number on the ID
as in
Joe Jackson
jacksjo
jacksjo1
jacksjo2
if you are looking for more unique than that then you would have to go into the address info and all that. The only reason I am not too keen on that is becuase people tend to move a lot... using their address for an ID isn't always good.
