    Question

    Hi all.

When designing a VB project, sometimes the Form Layout window works (displays the form) and other times it doesn't. Anyone know why?

    Thanks.

Arrow Not quite what I was referring to

    Thanks for the reply HeSaidJoe,

But I am referring to the Form Layout Window that appears in the lower right side of the VB Design Window that allows you to determine the start-up position of a form.

    Any ideas anyone?

set the start up position to "custom" or whatever, not "windows default"

    Question

    Thanks Dennis,

But that didn't work either. There has to be a logical reason why it won't let me determine the start-up position for the Form. Does anyone know what it is?

This is an option located under VIEW.
Click on View and then select 'form layout window'

that will either put it there (if it's not) or remove it (if it is there).

Is that what you are looking for??

    Arrow Thanks koperski, but

I know how to make the Form Layout Window appear. My problem was that the actual forms in my program weren't appearing in the Window ... until this morning. I don't know why, but they are there now. Apparently, I'm the only one who's had this problem.

    Oh well, thanks again.

I've had almost the same problem, I've never been able to display the form inside the window!

In consequence I've never bothered with this facility, but now I'm bothered. Can anybody help?

    Finally, someone understands me!

Frank, your problem isn't almost the same as mine, it's exactly the same as mine! Like I said earlier, the forms magically appeared in the Form Layout Window this morning. Maybe it's a bug in VB.

Could be a bug in VB but I think that somebody, somewhere is aware of a 'secret setting' somewhere in the VB IDE! (or the registry)
