    E-Mail Checker

I made this e-mail checker. I just want some comments on how I could imrove the interface, or if you really want the code itself. Just ask me if you want to see the source code.

    Update 12/3/01 at 6:48PM PST.

I should have added that it will only check POP3 mail. I would have to learn more about HTML based mail if I wanted to add support for that.

That's alright. I'm not forcing you, but could you look at just the interface, and tell me if you think it could be improved?

I have uploaded a new version of it. I didn't add any functionallity, but the interface looks better, in my opinion. What do you guys think?

It's attached to the main post for this thread, so I don't use up John's precious server space.

OK I'll do that. I think I will set the default of the checkbox to 1 or true so that when you first use the prog, it will be checked. Thanks for the idea... any others?

OK new version! It doesn't have a caption bar, but I added an Exit button. I also removed the Hide Password checkbox. Check it out to see what I mean.

I added an About box, press F1 at the main screen. It's nothing special. This is version 0.4, so it's still beta. Let me know if you find any errors.

It doesn't? That's strange, it works for me. Try re-downloading the exe. I updated it a few times last night, so it you might have got the version right before the last one.

    downloaded update,
the F1 thing isn't working for me either
and when you click on another window you loose your program and you need to minimalize everything to get it back.

I'm starting to think that I didn't upload the right version, or it didn't get uploaded properly. With the version I have on my desktop, the most recently compiled version, it shows in the taskbar, and the F1 key works. I must not have put the new exe in the zip file. I'll upload it when I get home after school (about 2:00pm PST (it's 9:12am right now))

I don't have the source for it anymore... that was over a year ago and I've lost it in one my many formats. =/ There is similar code now on a site called winsockvb. The address is http://www.winsockvb.com

There's a tutorial somewhere on there that shows how to make a simple POP3 client or mail checker.
