Hello everyone,
Next week i'm starting on a new project which will have to establish a interface between to differt systems/servers.
on the first side some kind of database server on the other side network which handles chemical analysis result (accessable through ocx's) in the middle my VB-programm
( on a separate server).
Anyone around some good tips, code , workarounds or experiance with sortlike situations ?

Oh Boy this stuff gets better and better
The major major major advice l would give you is....setup mapped drives between the servers. Makes everything so much easier, cuts down on the use of winsock,,,,which is full of bugs.

mapped drives ar probably no go cose the vb-interface has to enter data(files/strings) directly into the database.
additional the database has to be verified for new commands to send request for new info to the ocx part.
