I am using VB-World but I just tried VB-Square. I get the same result using either style set.

    If I manually goto

http://forums.vb-world.net/avatar.php?userid=23694 then I can see my Avatar. It just does not show in either style though.

for some strange reason I ended up in http://forums.vb-world.net/showthrea...hreadid=123165 where the Avatars do not work.

If I goto here though http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.p...hreadid=123165 it works fine.

This has gotta be a bug....

hehehe I found my first real VB Forum bug

ok cool - I was worried there for a minute if my system was playing up again.

Who needs to know that a bug has been found and where are bugs posted to ?

It's a known bug that if you go to http://forums.vb-world.net avatars are broken images, and John changed all internal links to the correct URL, http://www.vbforums.com .

oh thanks filburt - you just dampened my spirits... I thought I had found a bug...

    but....

If John had changed all internal links then how come I got sent to forums.vb-forums when I was in www.vbforums.com

just thought I would put that one in

Maybe you got a link from a search engine?

no it was from the vbforums not a search engine. If I can replicate it again then I will post it here

If you got linked to it via vbforums.com then it might have been from a post (they didn't get changed).

However, it's not a bug that they don't work from forums.vb-world.net...they're not SUPPOSED to work from there

ok thats good to know. If the link was from a post then its not a bug. I don't remember where I got the link from within the site but it may have been from a post reply.

    Arrow

right found out how to replicate it.

    It is a bug

type in something in the search box from vbforums.com and when the list returns you are now on forums.vbworld.net

when you open a post - VOILA - the avatars are not there.

    Works here

I went to search, and still stayed on vbforums.com...maybe it's because I'm using the superior custard-flavoured VBSquare style

PS: the bug is it sending you to forums.vb-world.net, not the fact that they don't work from there

The bug is not the fact I am being sent to the other url. The fact is the other Url should not be used as it does not diplay the avatars.

Try changing yur cp profile to use the other style and try it again.

do a simple search - open a topic and her presto no more avatars.

I have tried this as a guest user on a different pc as well so I know the bug is there.

They both point to the same server.

I think John couldn't be bothered to update the DNS entries. He did go through correcting the links in the templates, but must've missed that one on vb-world style.
