Hey, I'm just curious, what are some of you peoples favorite Active X controls, tutorials, samples, or whatever. What's been most helpful to you in your programming experience?

I agree with Laurens, I've been using the Apex TrueDBGrid for over 3 years and I don't think I've written a program in that time without it.

To tell you the truth the latest True DB Grid 6.0 has a lot of not fully thought through features, and it made impossible for us to use them. Besides the point that we always had problems with large recordsets.

Winsock
I think I have to say the winsock controls. I have found a lot of fun and Entertaining uses for it like sending pop up messages from ET to one of the guys in the office who is always running SETI

My favorite control is the Picture Box Control, it is so useful, as a container for other controls, or as a simple imagebox control, and it can be treated like a command button, it can be printed on.. its like an entire form, but you can have it on another form, and it can be any size you want.
My favorite 3rd party OCX, is the socket tools OCXs http://www.catalyst.com
u can choose from 3 diff. editions.
library edition (dll's)
visual edition (ocx's)
enterprise (dll's and ocx's with a 2 user licence)
I have used the eval. versions of them, I can get a big discount on either of the first 2 edit's.
but I cant decide which one I want, the ocx's are easy to use, but the dll's have more functionality....
decisions, decisions...
but my favorite dll is probably gdi32,

Another of my favourite technologies is called iSmell. It let's you transfer "smells" through computer. So if you're cutting the grass in England, you can send that smell of fresh cut grass to me, here in Canada.
pretty amazing. It will be released in US and Canada by the end of this year.

Favourity Control........................
The Windows NT Service Control !!!!
Saved my life, I thought I was going to have to go back to Borland C++ Builder 4 to finish that project!
Hated control ...............................
The Progress bar,
I really have to get my **** together and write one, I hate the fact that you have to include that whole pack just to use it, I hate that it has no percentage label but MOST OF ALL I HATE THAT IT'S AN INTEGER BASED CONTROL SO IT DOESN'T ACCEPT A MAX VALUE OVER 15BIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't mind me, I'm having a bad day
